We are deeply saddened, and are with you in thought. What a man, what a friend! What gift of life to have crossed his road, and having made some way together. He is in us for ever.

Mert's friendship and mentorship were so pivotal in my development as a physician, a scientist, and a leader. I will deeply miss our stimulating and provocative chats together. But their impact remains indelible. He was important to all of us. Angela and I send our warmest wishes to Audrey and the rest of Mert's family and wide circle of friends.
