Melvin Muehleman Obituary

Muehleman, Melvin Age 94, surrounded by his family until his final breath after a brief illness. Formerly of Skokie and Chicago. Veteran of WWII, awarded the Purple Heart. Beloved husband of Kay for 63 years; loving father of Carol (Ralph Cress), Fred, and James (Polly); Dearest grandfather of Logan, Sunny, Charlotte, and Vaughn Muehleman, and Andria Cress. He enjoyed the last years of his life reading the paper while sitting on his deck overlooking the lake on which he lived in Lindenhurst, IL and being visited often by his family. He was employed by New York Life Insurance Company for 48 years and subsequently enjoyed his retirement on the golf course with his army buddies and in his volunteer work at Lutheran General Hosp. He is preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Fred and his siblings, Fred, Lester, and Dorothy. He was a truly gentle soul who was loved by everyone. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday June 14 at United Protestant Church of Grayslake, 54 South Whitney Street, Grayslake, Illinois 60030 Phone: 847-223-8131.

I have wonderful memories working with Mel at New York Life. He was my boss but I considered him more of a friend. He was always supportive and fun to talk to. I wish his family peace on the anniversary of his passing and to stay safe.
