Meliva Matovich Obituary

Matovich, Meliva (Matijevich) Fell asleep in the Lord on December 24, 2012. Beloved daughter of the late Michael and Mary Matovich of Chicago, Meliva spent the majority of her life in Chicago, having moved to Des Plaines in 2004 to reside near family members. Meliva was a loving sister to Nick (Nada) Matijevich. She was also a dear aunt to Dara (Peter) Kosich, Michael Matijevich, Desa (Paul) Krause and Robert Matijevich. Additionally, Meliva was a fond great-aunt to Leah and Lauren Matijevich. She is also survived by her beloved godson, Milos Sekulic, many kumovi and friends. Meliva, a graduate of St. Josaphat High School, was an employee of Northwest Air Lines for the majority of her career. She was a lifelong parishioner of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral where she was a member of the Circle of Serbian Sisters and of the United Serbian Society. Visitation will be held at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral at 5701 North Redwood Drive in Chicago, IL at 11:00a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012, prior to the 12:00p.m. funeral service. Interment at Montrose Cemetery, 5400 North Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60630. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral.
