Alice, it was with profound sorrow that I learned of Max's passing. Sometimes news that is inevitable still arrives as a terrible, surprising blow. Growing up as an "unofficial Zalusky" along with Bernie's three sons, it seems I've known Max since I was a young boy. He was always filled with a confident, exhuberant energy, and he had the amazing ability to make you feel, whenever he spoke to you, that you and he were the two most important people in the world. I shall always treasure the many, often delightfully unexpected visits you two made to see me in Corona del Mar. Knowing Max is a jewel I'll keep in my heart for the rest of my life.

Dearest Alice,
Your love and devotion to Max was outstanding. Max's recent illnesses and your tireless meticulous care for his well being,
should be the gold standard for all to see. We know you will need time to mourn and recuperate your soul mate of 42 years. Max had a great sense of humor. Our condolences to you Alice, Steve, Nina, Harry and the rest of the Family.
Love Cousins,
Dick and Shirley

I only wish I could have known Max Zalusky. He is truly the epitome of what has now been hailed as
America's "Greatest Generation". His devotion to his country, community, and family will always keep him near and dear to all those who knew and loved him. R.I.P. Max Zalusky. You will never be forgotten.

Although I didn't know him, these words clearly illustrate a life of love and devotion from a man for the country he lived in. Rest in peace, Max Zalusky.
