Hammermeister, Maudeline C. (nee Toner) "Toni", 84, passed away February 21, 2006, loving wife of the late Raymond, devoted mother to Michael R., JoAnne (Edward) Connelly, Raymond (Pat) and the late Fred (Denise) Hammermeister, fond grandmother to Roy (Mary) Whitmore, Greg (Susanna) Whitmore, John, Nicole, Michelle, Craig and Scott, Hammermeister, great-grandmother to Nicholas, Zachary, Tyler, Adriana and Olivia, beloved sister to Cecelia "Terri" (the late Harold) Hanson, cherished aunt to Margaret "Dolly" Schoener, George (Karen) Hammermeister, Sue Hammermeister, TerryPat Hanson, Betty Benson, MariAnn Gowen, Linda (Michael) Unger and Jimmy (Ann) Hanson, great-aunt to many. Proud WWII Naval Veteran, serving in San Diego. Devoted to her family, Maudie was a stay at home wife and mother for most of her life, renewing her love of travel in her senior years, braving her first airplane ride at age 70. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, March 5th, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral and Cremation Center, 6467-73 N. Northwest Hwy. (one blk. N. of Devon), Chicago. Cremation private. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1210, Chicago, IL 60601 appreciated. Although I knew Maude only little, I was made aware of her vital presence. There is no mistaking the spice that this wonderful woman added to the lives she touched. She will forever be with me.
