Ropa, Matt age 87, Veteran of WWII, U.S. Air Force, husband of Elizabeth (nee Kopinski), loving father of Christine (Frank) Hasman, Steven and Michael (Julie), proud grandfather of Kristofer, Andrea and Katie, fond brother of the late Joseph (late Nell), late Stanley (late Eleanor), late Al (late Julie), late Casey (late Helen), late William (late Tatsi) and the late Walter (Sally), dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral Thursday, 10:15 a.m., from The Zarzycki Manor Chapels, LTD, 5088 S. Archer Ave., (at Keeler), to St. Jane de Chantal Church. Mass 11 a.m. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Christ the King Mausoleum. Visitation Wednesday, 3 to 9 p.m. 773-767-2166To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

I wanted to send my condolences since I can't be there at the wake. I'm holding in my arms Matt's 8 day old Granddaughter, Katie, and I'm recovering from a C-section birth. I honestly wish I could be there to support my Husband & family, but please know that I'm saying a prayer from home instead. Matt was a good Father & he'll be missed and always in our hearts.
