Stone, Maryon "Happy"
Maryon "Happy" Stone.
Happy lived a full life in the greater Chicago area, a place she cherished deeply. Born and raised on the South side, she spent her early years in Hyde Park, where she formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. It was there she met her childhood sweetheart Ira Stone with whom she would marry and build a family. Together they moved to Highland Park, where they raised their two beloved children.
Happy attended Hyde Park high school and graduated college from the University of Illinois. After raising her children, she pursued her passion for helping people by earning her MSW from Loyola University. She went on to work at the department of Psychiatry at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and later Lake Forest Country Day School. Her deep compassion allowed her to touch countless lives, always finding joy in supporting children and families. She also enjoyed her volunteer work at the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Mary Lawrence Chapter
Later in life, Happy married Richard Henriksen and together they built a strong and joy-filled life in Highland Park. She was very active in her children's and grandchildren's lives and adored her great grandchildren. Her priority in life was always to try and spend as much time as possible with her family. She maintained a busy social life with her many friends and activities. She loved her art classes, painting, lively bridge games, and walking with neighbors.
