Mary Wozniak Obituary

Sr. Mary Celine Wozniak, SSJ-TOSF beloved member of her religious community, the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis for 74 years passed away on November 5, 2003 after a lengthy illness and period of retirement at the Immaculata Congregational Home in Bartlett, IL. As a high school teacher she taught in the Archdiocese of Chicago at St. Barbara H.S. and St. Mary of Perpetual Help H. S. In the Bridgeport neighborhood. Her teaching ministry was also in Wisconsin and Indiana. She became a Medical Technologist and worked at hospitals in Colorado, Nebraska, and Indiana before retiring to the Congregational home. Her parents, Anastasia (Mankowska) and Andrew preceded her in death as did her brothers Frank, Damien, Leo, Peter, Rev. Louis and sister Agnes. She is survived by her sisters Harriet Struebing (William), Victoria Targonski, and Sister Marie Virgene, SSJ as well as many nieces and nephews and the Sisters of St. Joseph TOSF. Friends will be received at the Sacred Heart Chapel of the Congregational Home, 801 W. Bartlett Rd., on Sunday, November 9, 3:30 to 8 p.m. for the Wake. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 10, at 10:30 a.m. by her nephew, Rev. Conrad Targonski, OFM, USN.
