Mary Woodson Obituary

Mary G. Woodson SUFFOLK - Mrs. Mary Tom Gilman Woodson died at the age of 83 on Dec. 29, 2008. A native of Portsmouth and resident of Suffolk, she is survived by her husband of 59 years, David W. Woodson and a daughter, Mary Gilman Woodson. Mrs. Woodson was the daughter of the late Judge Thomas Etheridge Gilman and Mary Virginia West Gilman. She was an Episcopalian and graduate of Saint Mary's Junior College, Raleigh, N.C., and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C., of which she was a member of the Chi Omega Society. She was a charter member of the Portsmouth Service League and a member of the Virginia Chapter of the Colonial Dames of America. Parr Funeral Home & Crematory in Suffolk is serving the family.
