Mary Satala Obituary

Satala, Mary Ann (nee Kolar), beloved wife of Victor J for 53 years, devoted mother of Mary Beth (Russ) Pac, Julie (Mark) Webber, and John (Debbie), cherished grandma to Caila, Nathan, and Nicholas Webber, Olivia and expected new baby Satala. Preceded in death by her parents James and Mary (nee Witek) Kolar, loving sister of the late James (Bernice), the late Albert (Pauline), and Sylvia (the late Charles) Diehm, also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, co-owner of Satala Funeral Home. Former employee of Speigels and Reliance Trading Corp. for many years. Current President of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, Br 274 and past president of St. Michael the Archangel and St. Joseph High School Mothers Clubs, and a long time member of St. Michaels Golden Agers. Mary Ann was a tireless volunteer to her Church and community, she will be sorely missed. Funeral Monday, 8:45 am from Parkside Chapels and Cremation Services, 5948 S. Archer Ave., (2 blks W. Of Central at Major) to St. Michael the Archangel Church (48th & Damen) for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2 to 9 pm. Arrangements by Satala Funeral Home, Russ Pac, Funeral Director. 773-767-9788.

Uncle Vic, Mary Beth, Julie Ann and John,
So sorry to hear the news about Aunt Mary Ann...I was hoping hospics would of been able to keep her with you a little while longer!
She was a grand lady and always a wealth of information, guidance, console and fun to be with.
I remember our last visit (road trip thru Chicago) with all the ladies in the back seat driving to see Great Aunt Betty. We laughed so hard!!
Always remember the good times and don't ever forget her laughter, her smile and her strength.
May God be with you all during this time.

Though we knew Mary Anne for a very short time, she was so very thoughtful. She always remembered to send dad (now 94) a birthday card, and was so helpful to my niece Judy and nephew Jimbo during their loss. She was a special lady, and touched so many lives. Our deepest sympathies to all the family. Auntie Pat and Papa Wengren.

Our hearts go out to the Satala family. Mary Ann was a wonderful, loving Mom and Grandma. We didn't know her well but it only took a little while to see how much she cared for her family. She focused her life on helping others. We were blessed to know her. She will be missed by many. We know she will be a Guardian Angel. We are sorry for your loss.
