Mary Martin Obituary

Martin, Mary Ann C. (nee Haley) of Palatine, Illinois. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 2004 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. A Memorial Mass will be conducted at noon on Saturday, December 18, 2004, at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson, Palatine, Illinois. Following the Mass, her friends are invited to join the family at Mia Cucina restaurant, 56 West Wilson in Palatine. Mrs. Martin was born in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, Illinois on December 8, 2004. Mrs. Martin had retired after many years as a library assistant at Palatine High School. In her retirement, she turned her energies to volunteer work at Misericordia Heart of Mercy, Chicago, Illinois, where two of her children reside. One of her primary volunteer activities was to serve one day each week at Misericordia's resale shop, Twice Blest. She is survived by her three daughters Julia (Jeffrey Shaw) Martin, Mary Martin and Margaret Martin, two sons Thomas Martin and James Martin; three nephews and two nieces; she was preceded in death by husband William H. Martin; brother Thomas Haley; parents Thomas and Ann Haley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Misericordia Heart of Mercy, 6300 North Ridge Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660.
