Our annual All Classes Visitation High School Reunion was held last Sunday,9/16/07. I was looking for Mary Carol and was shocked to hear the sad news. Over the years, she and I had many conversations, sometimes at lunch, about our family's genealogy. MC, as she would sign her emails, was constantly looking for a connection between her family and ours. We were both convinced that there is a connection, somewhere. What a sad ending to our interesting and happy conversations. Rest peacefully, Mary Carol and Bernie. Perhaps now, you know the connections. My condolences to Lorraine and your family.

Dear Mamons,
My parents already wrote a message on behalf of our family in Bernie's guest book. But I would like to add and express my condolences, as well. I am fortunate to have Mary (or Mrs. Mamon, as I have always known her) live in my earliest memories. Mr. and Mrs. Mamon were my parents' first and oldest friends in the neighborhood. When my parents moved two houses down in January 1978, the Mamons were there and welcomed my family, the only Indian-Americans in the neighborhood, with open arms. I was only a year old. Mrs. and Mr. Mamon were permanent fixtures to me. They felt like they were always there, had always existed in the green house just down the street. They gave us our beloved first dog, Dover, who was my childhood companion and also a reminder of the Mamons' generosity. It saddens me beyond words to know that both Bernie and Mary are gone, so suddenly. I am proud to have known them, and I wish the extended family peace in the weeks, months, and years to come.

Ed, Lynda, Tim, Tamara, Joe, Bernie & Family,
Our hearts go out to you during this very difficult time. The passing of one parent is tragic. The sudden passing of two is unimaginable. Through you we have known your Mom & Dad (Grandmother & Grandfather) for 18 years. They were always warm, down to earth, supportive, and loving and had their family's best interests in mind. Their legacy lives on in the successes and character of their children and grandchildren.

My memories are mostly childhood ones. Mary Carol babysat myself & my brother Andy many times, she helped with homework, literally pounding things into our heads. My aunts use to say I was a "Mary Carol to a T", though I'm not sure what that ever meant. I spent many nights at their house when they first got married then when they moved to Westmont. I babysat Bernie & Eddie. My last visit with Mary Carol, Bernie & Lorraine was last summer when they came to my daughter, Gerri's house for a cookout. I'm glad I got to see them & I will miss the summer visits. My sympathy to Bernie, Eddie, Joey & Lorraine

Our deepest sympathies to each of you and your families during this trying time. Losing a parent is never easy and to lose them together is near unspeakable. Fortunately, you have each other and a vast amount of loved ones to help you endure when you need it the most. Bernard and Mary Carol exuded love for their families and readily welcomed others into their fold. Their love for their dog Coco was eclipsed only by the love they had for their children and grandchildren. As in life, they are together in the after-life, continuing to love each other and watch over their children. We will miss their presence, but they will continue to live on in our hearts and memories forever.
