Kass, Mary (nee Kapitan), age 75, passed away at home October 9, 2005, surrounded by her family. Beloved and devoted wife for 47 years of George, loving mother of Angie (Gary) Tarnopol, Faye (Nicholas) Lack, Joanne (John) Pappas, proud grandmother "Yia Yia" of Kristen, Dino, Nicholas, George, Diedre Mary, Zachary, Johnny and Elise Mary, dearest sister of Elizabeth (the late Dr. Alex) Maniatis, dear sister-in-law of Fannie (the late George) Pipikios, the late Betty (the late Alex) Katsaros, Mary (the late John) Djikas, the late Spyros (Betty) Kass, Sandra (the late Christ) Ekonomou, Toula (the late Taki) Zaharias of Greece and Matiana (Peter) Pullman, loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, special to friend many. Lifelong member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Past President of Philoptochos Society, proud member of the "The Choir Club", "Suite 16" and Poker Club. Mary is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation Tuesday, from 3 to 9 p.m., at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, Trisagion service 7 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, Visitation 10 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m., at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 S. Kolmar, Oak Lawn.
