Mary Grzyb Obituary

Grzyb, Mary Lou Age 85, formerly of Harvey and Dolton, IL, passed away in her home in Hudsonville, MI on Friday, October 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony (Tony) Grzyb, whom she married on July 3, 1948 and was married 57 years until Anthony's death in June of 2006. She was also preceded by her sister, Charlotte Mandelkow, who passed away in August 2013. She was born in Glenwood, IL to Arthur and Alice (Schoenenberger) Bobb. Mary Lou was the 5th oldest of 11 brothers and sisters. She was hard working, always told you exactly what she was thinking, and enjoyed telling stories. She was employed at Jewel Food Stores until her retirement in 2005 at age 77. Mary Lou will be deeply missed by her family and is survived by her children, Richard Grzyb of Davenport, IA, Kathleen (Kathy) Simmons (Gary) of Hudsonville, MI; her very special grandchildren, Lindsay (Simmons) and Kyle Bohl of Grandville, MI, Mark Simmons of Hudsonville, MI; precious great-granddaughter, Brielle Ann Bohl whom she was able to enjoy for four wonderful months. She is also survived by her sisters, Margie Piekarski of Lansing, IL, Alice Cetnar of Schererville, IN, and brother, Richard (Karen) Bobb of Lansing, IL; brother-in-law, Walter (Rena) Grzyb of Harvey, IL; along with many caring nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at Mary Lou's request. A celebration of Mary Lou's life will be held in Schererville, IN on Saturday, October 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Auburn Meadows Town Home Clubhouse, 1205 Auburn Meadows Lane, Schererville, IN 46375.
