Dear John and Vicki,

We've been thinking of all of you, as the one year anniversary, of Mark joining our Heavenly Father approached - and today, when we woke up - such a feeling of sadness filled our hearts - and we can only imagine how all of you are feeling. Know that friends from Wisconsin continue to think about all of you - and our prayers so often are of your family - Know that so many care about both of you, your son, Michael, and Mark's lovely wife, Sarah.

With Love,

Ann and Jon Hammes

Mr. and Mrs. Wauterlek,
My heartfelt sympathies to your family during this difficult time. I remember Mark as early as children's sunday school at Village Church when we were around 5 years old or so. Though we ran in different circles growing up, Mark was always respected and loved by his peers, admired by many.
I pray that God brings you comfort that only He can provide.

John & Vicki
What a powerful testimony on your son Mark on Wednesday. That was one of the most emotional and inspirational moments of my life. I now wish I had known Mark better but I am privileged to have called him a friend and a partner.

I am convinced that God sent Mark as an angel to visit with the world and to change peoples lives. He has certainly changed mine. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I wish you the peace of Christ.

Mr. & Mrs. Waueterlek:
Nothing can describe the pain of your loss. I only met Mark once or twice but I know with a father like John, he would have been very successful in his life. I worked in the Retail Div. for 12 years before retiring and felt privileged to know all the partners of HP. You and Mark's wife will be in our prayers. This loss of two great men is devastating. God bless you all.

Dear Wauterlek Family -

I had only gotten to know Mark through business in the last year or so, but could tell he was very genuine and an asset to the real estate community...a rising star no doubt. We shot skeet together last fall and he clued me in to the fact I was shooting from the wrong side - I became an instant marksman and I'll have you know my wife is overjoyed. He will be missed but always remembered. My prayers to you in this difficult time.

Sarah and Mr. & Mrs. Wauterlek,
When hearing the news of Mark, my immediate memories of him were of his rare genuine personality, sincerity and a quiet sense of foundation that can only be found by being grounded in Jesus Christ. He will be missed here on earth, but there's no doubt he's rejoicing right now in an indescribable place where the hunting and fishing is better than even he ever imagined! Praise God for your husband and son and the life he lived. I was blessed to have known him. His life and death will certainly be an inspiration to me personally.

Sarah & Wauterlek Family,

First, let me say how very sorry I am for your loss. Mark truly was a wonderful, kind and genuine person. Knowing that Mark loved and walked with the Lord brings hope and assurance that we will see him again. I only knew Mark for a short time, but his impact on my life as a Christian and fellow hunter was huge. As a new believer, Mark always made time to get together for breakfast or dinner to encourage me in my walk, but watching Mark live his faith was all the encouragement I needed. The bible I read was given to me by Mark and I cherish it more now than ever. Mark also took me hunting when I harvested my first deer. When we recovered it, he was happier for me than I was! He led me in prayer thanking God for such an amazing animal (even though it was a small buck) and the opportunity to share the experience together. If I am blessed with the chance to take a deer again, I will say a prayer thanking God for his wonders in nature, but more for the short season that I knew a man as loving and kind as Mark. Thank-you Sarah for sharing him with us.

Sarah and family - I am so sad for your loss. I had the great pleasure of working as a consultant on Mark's projects while he was at Interstate Partners in Minnesota. He was a breath of fresh air, curious, smart and truly fun to work with. The world will be poorer without him, although it appears, even now, he knows what he's doing and where he's going. I will remember him with fondness and great respect.

Please accept my deepest condolences in the face of your terrible loss. While I'd only met Mark a couple times at our Commercial Real Estate Fellowship group, he certainly impressed me as a bright young man of integrity. To a lesser degree than he being missed by his family and friends, rest assured he WILL be missed within the industry he left far too soon. We are so sad to hear of Mark's passing. While I haven't seen him since college, I have fond memories of Mark and he was a dearly loved friend by many at Bethel. Please know that you are in our prayers during these difficult days. May Jesus be your Prince of Peace like never before and may you rest in the knowledge that Mark is with the Lord right now. We are certain of that and we praise the Lord for his love for Mark.

May 6, 2007

Sarah - I have had so much fun with Mark, Ben Duininck and their friends over the past several years. I will miss his laughter, his teasing, his tired Filson overalls, watching him tie flies for Ben, and fibbing about how many birds he shot in Argentina....I will just miss him. But you shoud know this - he loved you, said awesome things about you when you were not around, and when no one was looking he always honored and adored you. He loved Jesus in a way that leaves me longing to do a better job of serving Christ with the time I have been given. He was a great friend to be with - and he is someone that I will want to see as soon as I arrive in heaven. I am sure he would want me to tell you one more time that he loves you and can't wait to see you again!

Much Love,

Tom & Gina
