Cullison, Mark A. 47, of Chicago, died suddenly at home on Sunday morning, September 5, 2010. A man who devoted his entire life to his wife Laura Cullison and their children Alec and Audrey Cullison. Mark was well-known and loved in the theater community in Chicago. Anyone who knew Mark had at least one philosophical conversation with him, and probably raised a glass with him. His passion for music, cooking, friends and fine whisky (preferably all at once) enriched us all. He will be sorely missed. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, September 12 at 2:45PM at Church of Our Savior, 530 W Fullerton Pkwy, Chicago (773-549-3832). Mark was not a "churchy" person. So please, no ties, and preferably no black attire. Mark knew how to celebrate without being formal, so let's all honor that. Mark and his family were in the process of relocating to Massachusetts. Another service will be held on Saturday, September 18 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Holyoke, Mass. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Illinois, 773-281-5058. www.cremation-society.com

My Uncle Mark was a strong, brilliant, exceptional man. I was lucky enough to be related to him! Living in the world without him is cruel...it just sucks.

It is still hard to comprehend how such a vital and creative young man can be gone so soon. We shared a love of plays, both old and new, and often hung out near a wall at Remy Bumppo gatherings like writers do. We shared a few family stories. His adoration of all his famly was palpable. He will be mightily missed.

Mark was and still is one of my favorite people. We used to make each other laugh all the time. His devotion to his wife and children was beyond measure. The first time he walked into the Red Lion he immediately became a member of the Sanctum Sanctorum of our whiskey society. He was a natural teacher, and he loved sharing his knowledge of malts.Renaissance men are few and far between, however,he was definitely of that Ilk.

It's still hard to believe that Mark is gone. He was truly a lifeforce and it was always wonderful having him around the theater. He was such a part of the Remy Bumppo family and he will be greatly missed.
