Tom, Jim, Mary, Meghan, Kasey and Lauren:
I want to be there at the closing ceremony, this morning. Bill will represent Mary and me for our family.
Within the last 8-10 months, Marilyn called me to obtain Pat K.'s new address in Denver. We had a wonderful conversation. She spoke about the annual summer vacations you made,Tom, with your lovely grandaughters. The "Dinty Moore Stew" being one of the highlights for you and the girls.
How I laughed to hear tell about your cooking and that Meghan, Kasey and Lauren wanted that stew. They never had it at home. She was thrilled you all went off to rough it, while she stayed home with the comforts of mordern life!
A loving wife, a superb mother, a remarkable grandmother, a devoted daughter to her mother for so many years.
But, I knew her to be a fond cousin to us on your Mother's side of the family. She and Dee carried on the traditions of Margaret and Chilly, Aunt Mary, Granny Kavanagh, and Cassie and Bill.
Tom, both of you had a real friendship with Pat and Bill. Later, she listened to Pat through the Elmhurst years.
Marilyn kept in touch with the three of us through Dee and Jack. She asked Dee about Jenny, Jennifer, and all our cousins.
I know of no other cousin's wife who made such an effort to be in contact with us over these years.
She was a year behind Mary at Aquinas. We both loved visiting with her over the years: at showers, weddings, wakes and most joyfully at our "Cousins' Reunions" at Dee and Jack's place in Michigan. She was a loving, courageous woman.
Marilyn, I miss you and pray for you and to you.
I think of and hear the words of the hymn sung in Latin, as the procession leaves the Church. "May the Angels lead you into Paradise"
This morning, Marilyn, you are at peace in Paradise.
With love and affection to you all.
The Keenan Sisters, Mary and Sue
