I met Maria once at a get together at Richard Capuas home. We sat at at a table together. I mentioned i lived in Skokie, home to Hollocaust survivors. I am a Jew. Maria shared with me her empathy and love for the Jewish people. I held her in my heart from that day on..sadly I didn't see her again as she went to meet her heavenly father shortly after.

My sincere condolences to the family of Maria. I had the pleasure of being her friend for a very long time. One could not find a better person. She always made one feel special in her presence..May she rest in peace.

I worked with Maria at College of DuPage where she taught "See and Symphony" for many terms. She would take older adults into Chicago to attend plays, musical performances, visit museums, and explore the city's architecture. She helped bring College of DuPage into the community. The students learned a lot from Maria and loved her class. She was such a pleasant woman. My condolences to Maria's family. May she rest in peace.

I met Maria once. I rarely tell people I am a Jew. Maria knew, and immediately launched into a kind and informed discussion. I was touched by this wonderful intelligent woman who had so much empathy for a people who were not her own. I loved her then and feel sad and heart broken that such a uniquely good person has departed this world.
