Maggie's contributions to the magic shop were invaluable. Frances could count on her for all the detailed work and the extra little things that makes a difference in a successful business. Maggie was also a personal friend and held in high esteem by Kathryn and me.

Maggie Young was many things to many people.

She and her sister Fran were modern working women long before it was the norm. Their jobs in the male dominated Magic industry were almost unheard of at the time, and the did it better than most men of the time.

Without Grandma, the popular Magic Inc. would never be what it is today. But Maggie never seemed to mind not being credited, she just did her job.

Maggie found time in her week to work full time at the shop, have a full hot dinner waiting for us all after work. Took us to numerous plays, films, and cemetaries.

She had a spotless home, and always had time to play Bingo with her daughters. She took great care of all her grandchildren.

Maggie worked at a food pantry and hospital. She played Maggie The Clown and Easter Bunny to countless kids. She even read fortunes.

I will never understand where she found the time to do so much.

She so meant things to so many people.

But to me, she was just Grandma.

Not until recently did I begin to understand how much I depended on her.

I love you Grandma. We love you Grandma. Thank You for showing us what love and hard work mean.

You made us what we are, and we are so grateful!

Michael and I want to wish you and your family our deepest condolences. While I've never met your Mom, I had heard so much about her and I hope that all your happy memories will bring you comfort. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

TO MAGGIE'S FAMILY, KNOWING YOUR MOTHER AND LIVING NEXT DOOR TO YOUR FAMILY WAS SUCH A NICE PART OF MY LIFE. CHATING ON THE PORCH WITH MAGGIE AND GOLDEN WAS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE MEMORY. BUT THERE ARE SO MANY. MAGGIE WAS THE KINDEST PERSON I EVER MET. SHE WAS A HARD WORKER, AND FULL OF ENERGY. ALWAYS ON THE GO. SHE RAISED MANY CHILDREN AND GAVE THEM HER ALL. LOVING EVERYONE OF THEM AS HER OWN. I USED TO KID HER AND SAY " MAGGIE, YOU HAVE PAID YOUR DUES, AND SURELY YOU HAVE EARNED A TICKET STRAIGHT HEAVEN" AND SHE'D SAY TO ME...." GOOD, I'LL BE WAITING FOR YOU THERE"....SHE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY AND I WILL ALWAYS SMILE WHEN I REMEMBER OUR "MAGGIE".

LOVE TO ALL, JODIE MYE

I first met Marguerite when she was working with her sister, Frances, at Ireland Magic Company at 109 North Dearborn Street in the Loop. I was a boy of about nine or ten. Marguerite and Frances were always kind to me, always willing to let a boy like myself stand around the shop peering into the counter displays. Whether or not you bought something did not seem to matter. Marguerite was always cheerful and friendly to me. Memories from childhood like this stand out. Marguerite is a part of my best memories of childhood.
