She was my case worker, one of the nices ones I’ve met. One specific time I was talking to her on the phone and it was like I was talking to a friend. No judgment and was so kind. At one point we were laughing and wondering who’s house was louder. DHS lost a great worker.
My heart goes out to her husband, kids and parents. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I met Kayla in 5th grade and we became fast and close friends. Throughout the years, we remained close and were always able to pick up right where we left off. She was one of the most kind and genuine individuals I've come across in my life. We lost touch after high school but stayed friends on social media and I loved to see her accomplishments and was always cheering from afar. I offer my sincerest condolences to her husband, her children, and all of her family and friends who are feeling this great loss. May you find some peace in this difficult time.

Kayla and I worked together at Barry County. I knew her about 2 years from the time she started there. I was amazed at how quickly she caught on to the job. I often told her I don’t know how you juggle all your responsibilities. She as a great worker and i could see how very proud she was of her family. I am sorry that God chose to take Kayla away from her family. What a tragic accident.
