Margaret Bridges Obituary

HAMPTON - Margaret Rebecca Blanks Bridges, 85, widow of Arnold L. Bridges, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005. Born in Blackstone, Va., Mrs. Bridges had been a resident of Hampton for 62 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hampton, and a volunteer for Meals On Wheels. Mrs. Bridges is survived by her daughter, Robin B. Ernst and husband, Carroll, of Hampton; sister, Mary Tucker of Lawrenceville, Va.; and two grandchildren, Melodye Gayle Bridges and Rebecca Gail Ernst. She was preceded in death by her son, A. Wayne Bridges. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Stanley Wright and Rev. William R. Kyle Jr. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
