From 1935 to 1938 she studied in Albany with the New York State Department of Health, earning a certificate as a lab technician. An independent woman, Miss Clark lived and worked in Kingston. Initially she was a lab technician at the Kingston City Lab and advanced to the position of senior bacteriologist. She was a member of Clinton Chapter No. 445 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Having known each other since childhood, being distantly related, Marcia and Col. Raymond reacquainted themselves after his wife Anita (Cervi) passed away. Marcia and the Colonel were married June, 1962. Marcia was a very active member of the Cambridge community. She joined St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she was the treasurer for many years. She was a member and past president of the Cambridge Branch of the Women's National Farm and Garden Club and was also active at the state level. She enjoyed knitting and hooking rugs. Marcia loved cats and was devoted to her furry, feline friends. A stepson, Robert W. Raymond, and two brothers, Rear Admiral Malcolm Clark and Charles H. Clark, predeceased her. Survivors include three step-sons: Charles W. Raymond III of Colonie, Thomas M. Raymond of Portland, Ore. and Jonathan W. Raymond of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Colena Clark of White Creek; two grandsons, Charles W. Raymond IV and Peter T. Raymond; four great-grandchildren; a niece; several nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Terry and I were sadden to read of Marcia passing. Our sympathies go out to her family and it is with a smile we remember her quick wit and charm while under our care at The Cambridge Guest Home. Marcia was always thankful and fond for her sons support in her time of need. God Bless and our prayers are with her family during this sad time.
