In 1969-70, my Mom was a kindergarten teacher in Beverly like your Mother. I remember my first day going to school. (My Grandmother was waving/crying out the kitchen window, as if something bad had happened, when I left for St. John Fisher School.)
Stepping into Mrs Grady's Class that first afternoon (because there was an AM/PM Schedule) was comforting. Remembering the two sections of the class room, the one side had an old upright piano she played as we sat in the circle in the room singing - or in the other learning vowels or finger painting near the windows. My teacher, Mrs Grady gave her best. Education for children especially of that age is such a foundation and I was blessed to have her direction which enriched my life.
My Mom also taught for over 40 years and first job was a Kindergarten Teacher as well and LOVED the experience like your Mother! She recently died in September and coincidentally born in 1925. It is a tough loss. Our parents had this silent attitude of "What ever it takes!" from their heroic generation. Hopefully in time, we as their children will become half the people they were.
Yes, I too, am grateful for your Mother's passion....
Many blessings,

Tom and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you on this sad occasion. Although, Diane and I never had the privilege to meet her, if mother and son are anything alike we are confident she was a heck of a lady.

Her loving, thoughtful and gracious way has never been forgotten. I can still hear my parents say: If Mrs Grady says so, then it is so! Thank you to her family for sharing her gifts with us. She is no doubt enjoying her reward for all that she has given to so many of us.

How do you begin to thank someone who was so important in the early education of your children? Mrs. Grady taught all 4 of my children starting in 1976 .. The wonderful May crownings, the kindness and understanding when someone didnt really want to go to school and leave their mother. She was truly an example of a living saint.. mary Ann Sullivan... mother of Dan, Mike, Kevin Casey and Katie Sullivan

My sympathies to the Grady family. Mrs. Grady was a wonderful teacher. I was lucky to have her as my kindergarten teacher in 1971, my 4 siblings preceeded me in her class. She was a true blessing as to the way she touched so many children's lives.

Dad, Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary Pat & families, I'm very sorry for the loss we all share. Grandma was a wonderful and gracious lady, with a tremendous spunk and equal amount of gentility. I'm honored and pleased that my children have her as a model in their life and to have had special time with their great-grandma Grady. I know that this one where Christ and the Angels rushed to meet her and may she rest in peace, and be joined by the others we dearly miss. May the candle with my message represent the Perpetual light shinning upon her. I'm sorry that I am bound her otherwise I would have made the trip to pay my respects. God Bless all and I'll be thinking of you. Love Anthony
