I´ll never forget the conversation we shared under the stars of central Florida. It left an indelible mark on me, fostering an early appreciation for life and teaching me, even at a young age, to cherish my time with others. You gave me a coin that night and promised that if you were still alive for my high school graduation, you would give me a special gift. Yet, unbeknownst to us both, the real gift had already been given. A few years later, I too would face a battle for my life, and the framework you helped build in me that night became my strength. Life is precious. Life is fleeting. Live it fully. Fight for it fiercely.

I knew you for so many years, even before you became my brother-in-law. Yet, I only got to know you as you really were, through my sister and the kids. They really loved you. We will all miss your quirky sense of humor. You have left a big void that will be hard to fill.

V, when a friend leaves us we are often left with doubt, sorrow, and confusion. Yet these emotions are what make us human. I may understand philosophically why you had to leave, but I need not deny my feeling that you will be dearly missed.
