Mable was my mom's friend and a very sweet little lady with alot of spunk. No matter who came into her apartment at the Holland Home whether they were friends or workers they were always told to take a "treat" ..either cookies or candy she had sitting on the table. Her faith was strong...and her heart was kind and she will always be remembered by those who knew her.

Mable Murphy was my Girl Scout troop leader many years ago, and also gave me my first job -- at the Homewood Public Library. She had the gift of always making those who worked with her feel special and valued, and she was a cherished mentor to me. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Mable was my mother's Godmother, and I have never heard a bad word about this wonderful lady. She always sent us (my mother's children) cards for Christmas, never forgetting to ask us all how we were. I will miss her, as I'm sure everyone who knew her will.
God speed, Mrs. Murphy. Love you.

Mable was my Godmother, an inspiration to me all of my life. She was a speaker in our wedding in 1984 and each time that we spoke or she wrote she would remind me of the honor she felt for having been asked to participate in our ceremony. Mable was a perfect example of a dear lady and forever will be remembered and loved by everyone that had the pleasure to know her.
