CONNEAUTVILLE — Mabel M. Harris, 87, formerly of Linesville, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville, where she had been a resident for 12 years.
Born Sept. 3, 1922, in Montoursville, she was a daughter of Lewis and Rosa Braker Kaiser. She married Leroy Harris on Sept. 15, 1940, in Montoursville; he preceded her in death in 1973.
Mabel was of the Baptist faith.
She was a loving and devoted housewife and had worked as a supervisor at the Lakeland Senior Center in Linesville.
She and her husband loved making homemade candy and she enjoyed crafts.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn K. McGrath and her husband, Robert, of Conneautville, and Jeanette M. Crowell and her husband, Larry, of Benson, N.C.; two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, three brothers and three grandchildren.
To honor Mabel's request, there will be no calling hours, and cremation was chosen.
At the convenience of the family, a private graveside service will be conducted at Linesville Cemetery, with Pastor Loren Little of Living Hope Community Church in Conneautville officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Rolling Fields, 9108 State Highway 198, Conneautville, Pa. 16406.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
