I was just looking at pictures of my mother's memorial service, and smiled when I saw Lou mugging at the camera.

When we met again, after not seeing each other for 20 years or so, it was like we just saw each other yesterday.

He was warm, open, and a real mensch. He made people feel good just being around him.

I am so sorry for your loss, and am glad that I knew Lou.

JoAnn, Justin, Bradley, and family, my condolences to you all. Lou was such a fine man who fought with dignity and humor. I am so happy we were able to spend time together last year and I had the opportunity to get to know him just a little. You are a great family and can comfort one another at this very, very sad time. My love to you all. Cousin Nancy Pearl.

Dear JoAnn, Bradley, Justin and Family,

It is with great sorrow to learn of Lou's passing. He was not just an Uncle, but more like a brother. I have many wonderful memories of our childhood days together. Lou was a kind, caring and gentle soul and a great role model for many. It is hard to understand why people are taken from us before their time. However, we hope you find comfort in knowing his was a life well lived. Although the miles have kept us apart, he will always be a part of us. We will miss his smile, humor and gentle spirit.

With deep condolence.
