Louis Sanford Obituary
Louis C. Sanford, 74, made his transition on November 21, 2022. Louis retired from the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) as Senior Vice President of Operations in 1999.
Realizing a great loss are his two sons: Kevin (Cindy), of Knoxville, TN, and Kelsey (Brent) of Dallas, TX; his granddaughter Layla Sanford, of Knoxville, TN; siblings: Anner Doss, of Memphis, TN, Freddie (Sandra Jean) Sanford, of Bowie, MD, Mattie McSwine, of Memphis, TN, Doris Reed, of Chicago, IL, Everlyn (WC) Johnson, of Starkville, MS, and Otis (Elaine) Sanford, of Memphis, TN; two sisters in-law: Hattie Jo Turner, of Chicago, IL, and Lois Edwards, of Lexington, MS; special nieces: Danielle Turner and Connie Reed, both of Chicago, IL; and many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Greater Walters AMEZ Church, 8422 S. Damen Ave. Chicago IL 60620. Wake is at 10:00 am and the funeral is at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church in remembrance of Louis Sanford.
