Lorraine Schwab Obituary

Schwab, Lorraine Marie (nee Casey), age 90, a resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Downers Grove and Chicago, IL, died June 4, 2009. She was born December 17, 1918 in Chicago. Lorraine is survived by five children, Charles M. (Connee) Schwab of Glen Ellyn, Robert M. Schwab of Centennial, CO, Mary Barb Halloran of Naperville, Judith M. Hyland of Naperville and Laurie J. Schwab of Aurora, ten grandchildren, Lisa Schwab and Jamie (Cathy) Schwab, Catherine and Rebecca Schwab, Michael (Judy) Halloran, Kate (Matt) Buesching and Tom Halloran, Sean Hyland, Erin (Ted) Kerrn and Keeley Hyland, three great-grandchildren, Ryan and Charlie Buesching and Clara Halloran, loving sisters-in-law, Rosemary (the late Jerome) Casey, Anita (the late Leo) Egan-Talbot and the late Mildred (the late Joe Peters/ the late Don Quinn) Peters-Quinn and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles M. Schwab, whom she married February 20, 1943 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Chicago, she was also preceded by her parents, Robert and Mary Casey, and five siblings, Rita, Fr. Clete, Donald, Jerome and Jean. Lorraine grew up on Chicago's West Side and retired from Wayne Hummer Investments in Chicago. She was also employed throughout her work career at Illinois Bell and State Farm Insurance. She was a member of St. Raphael Church, Naperville and former member of St. Thomas More Church, Chicago and St. Mary of Gostyn Church, Downers Grove, IL. Lorraine is a former resident of River Place Condos in Naperville. In lieu of flowers, please support the Franciscan Missions c/o St. Anthony Foundation 150 Golden Gate Ave. P.O. Services will begin 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home and will proceed to an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church, 480 S. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
