She was a very special woman and we are so thankful God gave her to us. She was a lifelong member of Christ the King Parish, a true friend of Mount Carmel H.S., Notre Dame University, Misericordia and Little Company of Mary Hospital. Tiny was a longtime member of Beverly Country Club and Avondale Country Club in Palm Desert. She was an animal lover and generous supporter of their rights and causes. She was the sister of the late William "Bud" O'Hara and Betty Ryan, aunt to the Ryan, O'Hara and Duffy families, cousin to Bob (Marietta) O'Hara and best friend to Jean, Mary, Mode, Betty, Loret, Margaret, Helen, Carolee and Jane. "If Tiny could tell us how she wanted us to remember her she'd say we should dry our tears and smile". Family and friends will gather at Christ the King Church 9235 S. Hamilton Ave., on Friday May 9th, for visitation from 5 to 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 6pm. Private Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Dear Robin: My condolences on your mom's passing. How lucky for you all that she was with you for such a long time. Your mom was such a sweetheart, always had a smile on her face. I will never ever forget how she was the first person ringing our doorbell the night Steve was killed. She was a great comfort to all of us. I miss seeing you and think about you and your mom all the time when I drive or ride my bike past the house.

To all the Purdys--So Sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a dear friend of my Mom's and I'm sure she single-handedly is responsible for the success of Christ the King and Mount Carmel. My brother, Bill, who passed away just a few weeks before her, was so fond of her.

Dear Ann, Joy, and Robin,
I am so sorry for your loss.Your mom was such a wonderful person, wife, mother, and best friend to my own mother. I have so many great memories of her from my house on Luella, SSCC, Beverly Country Club, and your home. I am blessed to have had the kindness and love of your mother grace my life. I am also very lucky to have had the mentoring and guidance of the two most beautiful women, Mimi and Tiny, grace my life. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. To the Purdy Family - I loved Tiny -- she was our "Aunt" and my mom's best friend. I thank her for all she did for our family and always being there for my mom!!! At my mom's funernal -- she said to me that she doesn't want to be sick - she wants to go fast (the hardest for those who are left) but a wonderful way for her. She went out in style -- even got her hair done to meet all her friends!! I will miss her - we will all miss her. What a beautiful woman and wonderful heart -she always was there for everyone! Love to all of you.

Sorry, we will be unable to be with you on Friday due to a destination wedding -- but our hearts and prayers are with you all.

We are so deeply sorry for your loss..We just loved your mom. She was so much to so many people. We all loved her.Everyone called her "Tiny", for some reason I called her "Purdy"from the time I was little ,swimming at Beverly with her and my mom. When I got Married in 1973---she let me borrow this little purse that had been in the family, brides had used it before me, and after me....That was just the type of person your mom was..She always made you feel special and loved...My mom talked about many memories from long beach and how long she has known your mom....We were happy to know such a warm , giving person , her twinkling smile,a Friend to all.. ..May we all be as giving and loving as she showed us how to be.Our prayers are with all of you.May God bless "Purdy" and all of her family! Love, Marcy &Tom Dignan ,& Bette Ryan

To Tiny's family - I am sad and glad. Sad for you but glad for you too. She is safely home with the Lord she served so lovingly and all those special people that she helped along the way. What a wonderful gift to her family and to our world. She had a huge heart and room for everyone. The glory of God is someone fully alive. She had so much energy and enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is from the Greek 'en theos' - if you are in God and God is in you, you would be enthusiastic. I first met her when Kip died over 40 years ago. She continued to give so much to so many. I will be unable to be with you Friday but I want you to know Tiny and all of you are with me at the altar today and during this week. Tiny, May the Lord hold you close in the palm of His loving hand. Shalom.
