Dear Kate,

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mother. I found the obit online last night and was sorry to read that I missed the wake and service. It would have been nice to see you after all of these years.
Find comfort in knowing that you will be reunited with your Mom one day in heaven. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

With a clear recognition of the numerous contributions made by your mom to the world, I will miss her. My memories of her will focus on her keen senses of responsibility, ethics, love, nurturance, organization, understanding and patience. She exemplified that life is not measured as much by what one is given, but rather by how much one gives. She gave from her heart; her gifts live on in her family. She was a series of blessings. I was fortunate to have known her.
