Loretta Greene Obituary

Greene, Loretta 90, passed away peacefully with her daughters and son-in-law at her bedside on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley Eckstein Center in Scottsdale, AZ. Loretta was born on February 7, 1928 in Chicago, IL. Loretta was outgoing and had a keen sense of humor and was very athletic in her younger days. She worked at Western Electric and the American Can Company where she met and later married her late husband Glenn who she was married to for 55 years until his passing in 2007. They were blessed with 4 children. In 1963 they moved their family to Orland Park, IL. Loretta worked for Mr. Ed's IGA for several years. In 1996 the family relocated to sunny Scottsdale, AZ. In 2011, Loretta moved to Brookdale Assisted Living where she met many new friends and enjoyed playing bingo and scrabble. She would reside there until 2016. Needing more care and wanting her to be closer to them, the family moved her to an assisted living group home in Fountain Hills, AZ. After much failing health in the last 2 years Loretta decided to decline any further treatment and to go into Hospice. No longer in pain, she is finally at peace. Loretta was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by husband Glenn and daughter Diane. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Greene (Don) Anderson; daughter, Carol Walker; son, Glenn (Susan) Greene; grandson, Stephen (Marsha) Dickens; granddaughters, Alicia and Cat Walker; great-grandchildren, Indigo and Juno Dickens; sister, Josephine Honeman as well as cousins and many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home, 1562 E. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ 85204 with interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
