Mr. Becker...One of Sullivan's most memorable teachers...46 yrs since my high school days and he's still very clear in my mind's eye. My sincere sympathy to The Becker family.

I came to Sullivan to teach English in 1989. I don't think Larry was there much beyond that time, but he always came to our social events. He made me laugh the way he gave Luis such a hard time. Over the years Luis always talked about Larry. He will be greatly missed.

Larry was large in stature but his heart was larger. He was a dear friend and I will miss him.

Only the fondest memories of this man ,teacher,whom touched my life & many classmates during our time at Sullivan High. I am quite sure they do not make teachers like this anymore,he made everyday life learnable & fun .Class of 1971

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Becker family. Mr. Becker was the best algebra teacher. He made me like it which was a huge feat. He made me smile every day I was in his presence. He will be missed!

Mr Becker was one of my favorite teachers at Sullivan. He gave so much to the community in and around the School, not only as a teacher but as a mentor to me and others involved in "Key Club" (Kiwanis). He inspired me to help others who cannot help themselves. Thank you Mr. Becker you will be missed. My Condolences to his immediate and extended families.

Larry Becker was my first mentor at Sullivan. He was the math department chair, yet he always taught all levels of students. I marched up to his room and asked for a diagnostic test for algebra so that I could gauge where my students were. He gave me a look that said "who is this woman", but he liked the idea that I had nerve enough to ask. He taught me about how a building develops social capital and turns from a school into a family. He called me "Jennings" and I called him "Becker". He was proud of being a "dinosaur", but was determined to help those of us who were new to the profession. Larry was a bear of a man with a heart as big as he was. I will never forget how much time he took to help me navigate the world of education.

My sincere condolences to his family. Larry will be missed by all who knew him.

I am so sorry to hear that Mr. Becker has passed away. He was my "division" teacher #513 at Sullivan from 1971 to 1975. He called me Jaff, my maiden name is Jaffe. He had a nickname for everyone of us. Rest in peace Larry Becker, you were one of a kind! I wish I was closer so I could be there for your memorial!

May God help you through this most difficult time. Prayers for the whole family and friends. Mr. Becker was not a teacher of mine but was always very kind to me. He is with his Lord now smiling down on his entire family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had Mr. Becker for Algebra. He was a wonderful teacher.

Our sincere condolences to our cousins, Tom and Jerry, and Tom's wife, Debby on the passing of their Dad, and to Molly, who lost her Grandfather. Uncle Larry was like a second father to us when we lost our Dad back in 1987. He was always there to offer us good advice and wisdom. We remember all the good times we had with him and the family-Fourth of July barbecues, celebrations at the Elk's Club, and family parties. He will be missed!
