Lois Bukiewicz Obituary

Lois Ann Bukiewicz, age 61, of Carmichael, CA, passed away on December 31, 2008, after a lengthy illness. At the time of her death, Ms. Bukiewicz was a Registered Nurse employed by Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, CA. Ms. Bukiewicz was born on December 18, 1947, in Medina, NY, and was the daughter of Lorraine M. and the late Leo A. Bukiewicz. She attended St. Mary’s School and Medina High School and thereafter, graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester. She later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Sacramento State University. Ms. Bukiewicz is survived by her mother, Lorraine M. Bukiewicz of Medina; five sisters, Jean B. (Dr. Luis) Zaffirini of Laredo, TX, Ellen B. (Mark) Goheen of Medina, Ruth Miro (Dr. Javier) of Bakersfield, CA, Mary C. (Dennis) O’Grady of Albion and Barbara S. Bukiewicz of Albion; three brothers, Paul Bukiewicz of Rochester, Michael Bukiewicz of Laredo, TX and John Bukiewicz of Arlington, VA. She is also survived by nieces, Jennifer Carlozzi, Melissa Miro, Anna Miro, Kara Goheen, Jenna Goheen, Elizabeth Zaffirini and Laura Zaffirini; and by nephews, Brett Goheen and Luis Zaffirini, Jr. Additional survivors include her maternal aunt, Gertrude Chunco of Santa Rosa, CA; and cousins, Jack, Mary Ann, Susan, Robert, Judith and Andrew Chunco. She was predeceased by her father, Leo A. Bukiewicz; her brother, Peter Bukiewicz; and her sister, Anne Marie Bukiewicz. During her long illness, Lois received the unselfish care, love and support of a number of close friends who were like family to her, including her cousin, Judith Chunco. Her family is eternally grateful for their kindness, compassion, caring and love. At the request of the deceased, no funeral service will be held at this time.
