Checchin, Sr., Lino A. Korean War Army Veteran. Beloved husband of Dea L. Checchin (nee Challand); loving father of Arthur (Dawn) Checchin, Debra Novales, Dawn (Gary) Constantino, and Lino (Jolene) Checchin, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Christopher Cruz, Joseph Novales, Lena (Paul) Callan, and Samantha, Adam, Lauren, and Artie Checchin; dearest great-grandfather of six; and great-great-grandfather of two; dear brother of Olga Pietka; fond uncle. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the St. Luke Lutheran Church of Logan Square, 2837 W. Armitage Ave., Chicago, IL. Deepest sympathy to all of you for your loss, and all that you're going through and have endured recently. Even though I was only 6 years old, I remember Uncle Lino coming into our family and his generosity to four little girls to whom he owed nothing, but gave all. Through the years, I appreciated being able to consult him for advice. When I started my business in downtown Chicago, I became aware of an opportunity to bring Uncle Lino out of retirement, delivering transcripts while walking all over the Loop. He made friends with many of my competitors, which I thought was hilarious. Everyone loved him. Of course, he'd stop in for a few minutes to chat when making his rounds. Then he retired for good. I still miss those days. I know this is long, but I wanted to write about my gratitude to your husband, Aunt Dea, and your Dad, Art, Debbie, Dawn, and Lino. Hold on to the memories. Rest in peace, Uncle Lino.
