Ciao zio*,
pensando a te penso alla tua fame di vita. A idee, progetti, valori. Alla famiglia, di cui ti sei sempre preso cura. Alla tenacia, alla capacità di rialzarsi, allo sguardo proiettato sul futuro. All´ottimismo, nonostante il dolore che hai sempre portato dentro di te.
Quando venni a Chicago mi portasti dappertutto e con generosità mi spiegasti l´America, con l´occhio di chi la conosceva ma voleva davvero farla comprendere a un tuo connazionale. Con l´occhio di chi amava la vita.
L´eredità che lasci ai tuoi cari è il tuo desiderio di vivere e di essere. La tua fame di vita.

Hi Uncle*,
thinking of you I think of your hunger for life. To ideas, projects, values. To the family, who you always took care of. To tenacity, the ability to get back up, the gaze projected towards the future. To optimism, despite the pain you have always carried within you.
When I came to Chicago you took me everywhere and generously explained America to me, with the eye of someone who knew it but really wanted to make it understandable to one of your compatriots. With the eye of someone who loved life.
The legacy you leave to your loved ones is your desire to live and be. Your hunger for life.
*For me you were not an uncle by marriage, but my uncle

resterà sempre indelebile il ricordo delle volte trascorse insieme,in armonia ed allegria.Anche nei momenti più difficili,hai sempre saputo trovare il modo di farci sorridere.Sei stato un coraggioso lottatore sempre,fino alla fine ed un esempio per tutti.
Unico rimpianto la distanza che ci separava.Ma l´affetto e l´amore,non sono mai venuti meno,né verranno meno mai! Ti vogliamo bene!
