Leonard LeGrand Obituary

LeGrand, Leonard William Age 76, late of Hickory Hills, IL. Beloved husband of Marie Theresa "Terry"; loving father of Kathleen (Dennis), Deborah (Henry), Susan (Edward) and Leonard (the late Don); loving grandfather of Steve (Evelyn), Nicholas (Lauren), Jessica, Ian, Kaitlyn, Kimberly (Andy), Ken (Christina), Marcy, Kristen (Joel) and the late Michael; loving great-grandfather of Justin, Jade, Berkley, Steve and Everett; dear brother of Tom (Carol), Phil (Alice) and Paul (Dawn). Len was a member of the local 150 Midwest Operating Engineers. An operator and mechanic of heavy equipment for over 50 years and a member/past-president of the Operating Engineers Square Club. He loved hunting and fishing and always made sure the pool was open every summer for family and friends and he always was there for anyone that needed a helping hand. He was an active member of his church that was founded by his parents and served as Director of Church Property. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Savior Divine Lutheran Church, 10040 S. 88th Ave., Palos Hills on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. followed by an open house from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Celebrating Len's Life at Janosik Banquets, 9126 S. Roberts Rd., Hickory Hills, IL 60457. Interment is private. Donations may be made to Savior Divine Lutheran Church in memory of Len. Arrangements entrusted to Schmaedeke Funeral Home 708-448-6000.
