Grandma Leo,

I will always cherish the beautiful memories we shared together. I loved every minute I had with you and will never forget your sweet and gentile ways. You taught me how to be kind and grateful. You were so brave and accepting of your fate. I remember a time not long ago in the hospital I was crying at your bedside because I know our time was limited and you were so tired. You saw the sadness in my eyes and asked me "why are you sad?". I explained how I was sad you were sick and I was worried about you getting better. Then you told me "don't be sad, its okay". You were so brave then and in your final days and hours. I am trying so hard not to be sad that you are gone. But I already miss you so much. Especially how your eyes would light up with happiness when I came to see you. I wish you could have stayed forever. I knew it was your time and that you were ready to be at peace. I am so blessed to have been able to call you my grandma. Thank you for being my best friend and grandma. I love you so much, you're my Angel now.

XOXO

Grandma Leo,
I will always have an appreciation and pleasant reminder whenever I see strawberries, smell horseradish or relish in fine baked goods. You taught us many things by example throughout your lifetime; how to always remain positive, build a family, how to read, how to smile and enjoy the simple things. Furthermore I hope to share your overwhelming patience for others while still remaining strong. All the times we went "bumming" as kids I don't remember once you buying me toys when you did for my sister. Instead you would allow me to pick a book; my choice on the story, but yours on the item. I didn't appreciate that until later, but you understood what counts. My mom quoted you in concerns to children a while back "what would you rather have a wild kid or a child that stares at a wall all day?" That was a very profound statement and will stick with me for many years to come. You were always good to each and everyone of us in individual ways.

Thank you for your unconditional love,

Joey

You were always so wonderful to me and my children. They will always remember our trip to Graceland, what fun we had. Prayers to your family and know your love will live in their hearts forever.

To My Mom,
I can not tell you how much you will be missed. You and Dad were always good to us kids and I will miss your kind smile and your helping hands. You were always a beautiful lady and always full of grace. Now you are back with our Dad and all of your friends and family. I just will miss you so much but I knew you couldn't be here forever. Glad you are not struggling any longer but for me, you went way too soon.I don't know what I will do without you. I tried my very best to get you the things and help you needed. I want you to know, you will always, always be in my heart. If I can be 50% as good as you have been as a mom, and grandmother, I will be a lucky lady. I love you and hope someday I will see you again... Thank you for all that you have done for me, my brothers and my family. Your guidance has made me a better person. Love your daughter, Barb

Perhaps God is a poet
who writes with words
of flesh and bone and leaf and flower . . .

Every hour of every day,
words pour out of the Poet's heart,
and every word is beautiful and true and worth the telling.
And when each poem is perfect,
and there is no more which ought to be said,
the Poet gently takes the words back into His heart
where they are safe forever . . . and then begins again
