Leo Shipulski Obituary

SHREWSBURY-Leo J. Shipulski, 89, of 65 Commons Dr., died Sunday, July 7 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester after a short illness.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Constance R. (Larinavich) Shipulski; two daughters, Diane L. Shipulski of Shrewsbury and Donna M. Reno of Sutton; a sister, Martha D. Shipulski of Shrewsbury; three grandsons and several nephews and nieces.. He was predeceased by his brother, Bernard Shipulski of Whitinsville and his sisters, Lena Mastrogiovanni of Shrewsbury and Wanda and Laura Shipulski both of Worcester.

He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Antoni and Maricianna(Faltynowski) Shipulski and lived in Worcester many years before moving to Shrewsbury 27 years ago. He graduated from the Worcester Boys Trade School.

He was an Army veteran of World War II serving as an aerial gunner.

Mr. Shipulski worked in the US Post Office in Shrewsbury for many years before he retired in 1971. He then worked at the former Orlando's Supermarket in Shrewsbury for many years.

He was a member of St. Mary's Parish, the Adelphi Council, Knights of Columbus, the Victor Quaranta Post American Legion and the Shrewsbury Friends, all in Shrewsbury.

He was an avid fisherman and loved baseball and football.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., (www.brittonfuneralhomes.com) Shrewsbury with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, July 9 from 5-8 PM.

If desired, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice instead of flowers.
