Doc was also a member of Third Unitarian Church and founder of Doc Gandolf's store, a cool community hang out place back in the day.
A great one who helped many.

Doc Pellegrino was a treasure. He supported and facilitated the documentary work of the Down Home Music Archives and nurtured many many musicians. In conversation, he reminisced to me frequently about his days working at the VA hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan and talked about anything else too. He always kissed the ladies. Sincere condolences to the Pellegrino family and to the Kingston Mines family.

Doc was a big fan and supporter of Lefty Dizz & Shock Treatment, of which I was a member, and who was a regular attraction at Kingston Mines from the 1970s on Lincoln Avenue through the 1980s on Halsted Street. Doc also hired me to back other featured performers, and he was my medical doctor during this time. We were friends, and I have fond memories of him and my years performing at Kingston Mines. My sympathy and condolences go out to the Pellegrino family. May you find solace in Doc's long and full life, his accomplishments and the many lives that he has touched.

Doc has always been one of my favorite people. He will be missed. But we all should have fond memories of the full and wonderful life he lead. He did so much and with such passion.

A lucky man who got to live out his dream and see it come to fruition with Kingston Mines and see his greatest legacy, his children, become wonderful adults to carry-on that dream.
