Lawrence "Butch" Gierut. Age 81. United States Army Vietnam Veteran. Beloved husband of Judith nee, Pienta. Loving father of Lynette (Richard) Benda, Michael (Stacey), Kristin Gierut and Patrick (Becky). Dear grandfather of Joe, Harry, Lou, John, Addy, Grant, Maggie, Stephanie, Bobby and Emily. Devoted son of late John and Stephanie. Fond brother of late Eugene (Lucille), late Jerome (Ruth) and Marilyn (Robert) Doherty. Dearest brother-in-law of late John (Kitty) Pienta and Betty (Jack) Shopin. Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be on Thursday, May 16th from 9 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 10 a.m. at St. Cletus Catholic Church, located at 600 W. 55th St, La Grange, IL 60525. Interment is private, Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. For more information contact The Sourek Funeral Home at 708-652-6661.

Judy, my deepest sympathy to you and your family. It was a sad day when I received the news of Butch's passing. I'll always remember him, especially our younger days, as a guy who could make me laugh and made the good times roll.
