Lavinia Orpen Obituary
October 4, 1928 - February 17, 2025 Lavinia "Vinnie"Orpen passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025 in Chicago, Il. Vinnie had a heart that overflowed with kindness. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel special, whether through a warm smile, a listening ear, or one of her famous hugs that could melt away the worries of the day. She had a way of making people feel seen and deeply loved.
She was always quick to help a neighbor, welcome a friend or guest, or offer support without hestitation. She had a knack for making people feel comfortable, whether over a game of cards, a cup of tea, or simply by being the person you turned to for advice and reassurance.
Vinnie's love knew no conditions. She listened without judgment, offered wisdom without pretense, and cared for others with a quiet, steady grace.
She is survived by her son Paul and daughter Mary, who will carry forward the love and warmth she so effortlessly shared. A funeral Mass will be held on March 22nd. at Montgomery Place 5550 S. Shore Dr. Chicago
