When I am dead, my dearest
When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.
I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

The Love Of A Sister
by Begary
If love could change the way things are
you would live forever and go so far
You'd know that I am always there
That I'll always love you, I'll always care
But love can't change the way things are
Or stop your pain or mend your scars
I hope that love can let you know
Not to give up or ever let go
Even when you're not in sight
You're in my thoughts day and night
Love is what will keep you there
And make me thankful for all we share

Verne,
It's been one month since you left us and I miss you dearly. There have been so many sad times in our family recently. This isn't the way I thought 2009 would be. You were always the one I could talk to about the things I wanted to do, you understood because you wanted some of the same things. I'm sorry you left so early in life, you had such a positive attitude about staying around and I wish you could have but then again I'm glad you're no longer in pain. I miss calling you and being able to go by when I was in Alma, I miss you always having a joke to tell or having some new dish you wanted me to try. I'm so thankful that John got to see you and Aunt Vern the week before she passed. He talked about it when we left Alma, he didn't want to see either of you when you got really bad. It's so hard to understand because one week after we were there Aunt Vern passed, four weeks later my baby son John John passed away and another four weeks after him you went away, now you're all buried close to each other in just eight weeks. I have so many burdens, so many questions, my heart is torn and heavy but empty, if this makes any since. It's so hard letting go but I know I have to for the sake of my other sons. Verne, I love you and just know that you'll always be in my heart, no one can ever take that from me.
You always called me little sister and hated that one green outfit with the big legs you always had to sew for me. You hated to mess with it but did it anyway for me and I'll never forget all of the times you went to my shows with me and you were my protector, my bodyguard. If somebody was bothering me all I had to do was say Verne in the middle of my song and you were there. I'll always think of you when I sing, "Heartbreak Express". That was the song you always wanted me to do for you. I have so many memories and this is what will get me thru the hard times along with the love of my family.
You will be sadly missed my dear sister. R.I.P.

Memories In The Heart
Laverne Nettles Sermons

Feel no guilt in laughter, she knows how much you care
Feel no sorrow in a smile that she’s not here to share
You cannot grieve forever, she would not want you to
She’d hope that you can carry on, the way you always do
So talk about the good times and the ways you showed you cared
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared
Let memories surround you.
A word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day
That brings her back as clearly as though she were still here
And fills you with the feelings that she is always near
For if you keep these moments, you will never be apart
And she will live forever locked safe within your heart
We love you Verne

My Sister Verne, oh how I miss you! This has been so hard on all of us, losing three of our loved ones in just eight weeks. You, my son John and Aunt Vern. I pray nothing else happens anytime soon because I just don't know much more we can take. You had a beautiful service and so many people. Verne, I love and miss you so much and you're forever in my heart and so many memories will remain.
