Laverne Friberg Obituary

Friberg, Laverne I. Age 81, was born in Jamestown, NY to Carl and Inez Friberg. He died December 25, 2015, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and only sister, Louise Friberg Payne. Vern is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his children, Nanci Jo (Rob) McGarvie, Brian (Susan) Friberg and Jill Friberg; and his grandchildren, Daniel (Rachel) Friberg, Benjamin Friberg, Bryce (Sarah) McGarvie and Breanne McGarvie. Vern worked as an electrical engineer in the Chicagoland area all his life until retiring to Northern Wisconsin, where he and Elle lived for 6 years. They then moved to Grayslake, Illinois to be closer to family. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on January 2, 2016, at Life Community Church, 1500 E. Central Rd. in Mt. Prospect, with visitation from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.
