LaVern Flach Obituary
Flach O.S.A, Rev. LaVern J. 80, died November 17, 2008, loving son of the late Clarence W. and Anne B. Flach, devoted brother of Marian Woodin, Helen Fleck and Gerald Flach, all of Michigan, Donald Flach of Maryland and the late Marcelline Fleck. Born 1928 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Professed vows in the Augustinian Order September 10, 1949. Ordained Priest June 4, 1955. Taught at St. Rita High School and Mendel Catholic High School, both in Chicago and Providence Catholic High School, New Lenox. Principal of St. Rita High School 1971-79. Visitation Monday, November 24th, 3 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., at St. Rita High School Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave., Chicago, followed by Funeral Mass at 7 p.m. Interment Tuesday, November 25th, 10 a.m., at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th St., Alsip. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Augustinian Guild, 20300 Governors Hwy., Olympia Fields, IL, 60461-1081, appreciated. lAVERNE WAS THE BACKBONE OF OUR PARISH WEKND HELP WHILE I WAS AT ST BEDE AND BEFORE HE RETIRED FROM TEACHING. HE WAS A VERY GOOD FRIEND AND I AM SORRY I NEVER GOT TO VISIT HIM IN THE NURSING HOME
