To the entire Roesch Family:

It has been a great experience being

associated with the Roesch Group for

the past 27 years, and I will miss

Larry more than you can know. He was

a great businessman, but more than

that, I knew that I could go to Larry for anything and he would be

there to help, unconditionally. We

have lost a great guy, and I feel

fortunate he touched my life. My

prayers and thoughts are with your

entire family.

Ever since I was born my father bought his cars from Larry. From a couple of Desotos in the 50's through his last car in the late 70's. Even though our neighbors owned the Chrysler dealership in Wheaton, dad always liked dealing with Larry and had a good relationship with him. I remember dad was going to pick up a new Chrysler he had ordered and was washing and vacuuming the old one before bringing it in. I asked him why he was doing that when they had guys at the dealership to do that. "I'm bringing it back the way I got it," was all he said.

On another occasion I came home for lunch to find a 1930 something Desoto in the driveway. The thing had flower pots inside holders attached to the pillars. Apparently when dad had brought his car in for service the garage had run out of loaners (remember those) so Larry insisted Dad take one of his antiques for the day to get around. It was quite a hit on our block.

May God bless the Roesch family at their time of loss.

To the family, friends, and employees my deepest sympathy on the passing of a truely wonderful man. I came to know Larry during my work as a broadcaster at WGN. Larry listened as we worked on behalf ofthe Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation and he called and said, "what can I do to help"? He felt fortunate that his family and employee's were blessed with sustenance and he did much to advise us, support us, and contribute to our success. We called often for advice and he was always there. I am truly sad to learn that Larry has passed. I can assure those who loved him that his place in heaven was secured long ago by the unselfish things he did like help feed thousands of hungry families in the Chicago area. This was a special man. He sold plenty of cars, but he saved a few souls along the way with his generosity.

Thanks Larry. I will remember you always.
