Lance has passed way too early by my personal reckoning , but he certainly left some very deep , profound , and fun footprints on the souls of us that had the privilege of knowing him well. Bill Rainer and I welcomed Lance .....AKA "Launch "....or the "Launcher " to his first out of school employ at Greenwich Capital as one of our first and foundational colleagues. As a company that had an established habit of attracting very bright , driven , goal oriented but fun loving folks , Lance got the bill on all of those respects .
Another trait of Lance´s which added to the genial culture of GCap was his kindness. He had thematically a verrry positive spirit and countenance , and could be counted on to grace his colleagues with friendly and positive encouragement. He made us better ...he helped us be lighter and happier . The fact that he was raised by a warm hearted mid western family was so evident by his informal nature and by the obvious gigantic value he expressed toward family matters . While I did not have the pleasure of knowing his children , I´m sure there is a sad void left by this fun , caring , and enthusiastic father/friend .
Lance was one of a kind ....and will be sorely missed by all of us who had the joy of knowing him well as a valuable colleague and friend .
God Bless you and your family Lance !! With deep affection ,
                     Ted Knetzger

Lance and I went to Kindergarten together at Ravinia school. We were on sports teams together in grade and junior high . We lost touch for many years until two years ago. We met at lifetime fitness and every time he visited his mom we worked out together. I enjoyed our time together . We were in touch just recently and i am very saddened by his passing. I enjoyed our talks and his smarts about everything. Lance I will truly miss you. RIP my longtime friend.
