I was a good friend of Kurt in the late 1940's. early 50's. We lived a few houses away from each other in the North-West side of Chicago, and with two other kids - Marshall Matz and Sam Korman - spent almost every waking hour of the summer together. I often thought about him in recent years, and was not surprised to learn from the obituary that he was a teacher. Most appropriate.

Dad, I just wanted to thank you for your fairness,honesty and support and for not playing favorites or excluding,ommiting and alienating me(among other things) the way that mom does. I really appreciated that about you. Thank you for being a great dad. I will miss you more than words can say. love you always,

Kirt was a great neighbor,co worker,and like my brother,we all will miss him very much,my love to all the family, may he rest in peace.

Yes, we will always remember Kurt for his "quick wit and gentle ways". He was a quiet man; speaking only when he had something of worth to say or something funny. Rest in peace our dear friend.
