Father Kevin touched many hearts in our parish. I'm going to miss the Dear Abbey letters he would read during Christmas time. Thank you Father for being such a unique person:)

His passing affected not only his family and brothers in Christ, but everybody who came to know him, agree or disagree with him.
My family is going to miss him. He was very dear to us because he was always there for us when we needed him.
To the Thissen and Dominican family
thank you for sharing him with us.

Father Kevin’s homilies inspired me in many ways. His liturgy made sense and I always left feeling closer to God and love for others. Thank you, Father Kevin. I know you are watching over us from our eternal home.

To the family and friends of Father Kevin. It has been a delight and a pleasure knowing him both at a distant as well as moments of closeness. He has been a wonderful inspiration in my life. I'm really going to miss his smiles but I know he left an ever lasting smile of memories within my heart. I thank God for allowing him to pass my way and letting me know that I have found a true home at St. Thomas Aquinas. You will be missed by me as well as many. Rest now for it has been stated "JOB WELL DONE".

Sadden to hear of the death of Fr. Kevin. He was a very good priest. We can be confident that he is now in the hands of God with Our Lady the Most Holy Virgiin Mary and our father, St. Dominic. Together, of course, with our unforgettable friend Fr. Gerard Joubert.
With my love.

My prayers and thoughts are with Fr. Kevin's family and friends at this time. My family connected with Fr. Kevin when he first came to Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Tx. Dad met him at a football game and invited him over for some Sara Lee coffee cake and he had been around ever since! He made me laugh with his stories and we worked together on the school musical(I was in the chorus)! He co-celebrated the marriage of one of my sisters, he baptized their children, he celebrated the renewal of my parents 25th and 50th wedding anniversary. I know many other families could decribe the same events with Fr. Kevin in their lives. Fr. Kevin, watch over us all and pray for us!

I grew up with Father Kevin from baptism to first communion to first penance to confirmation. He was a great role model in faith to all of the youth growing up in the church. He will be missed but always remain in our hearts. We are all better people and better Catholics for having had him in our lives. Rest in Peace, Father.

I remember Fr Kevin as Norbert when we were kids growing up. We attended Grandma Thissen's birthday parties in July of many years. He obviously lived a faith-filled life and touched many people. I offer my sympathy and prayers to those who knew and loved him in his later life. Mary Ann Utter

What a wonderful celebration there is in heaven this day - Father Kevin is with His Lord and with his parents and siblings who have passed. We should all be filled with joy because we knew him and loved him. I have such wonderful memories of his visits when we were growing up - he was two years older and I was entralled with his humor, piano playing and singing. There was always joy when he was present. His life was an example to all of us. God Bless Him and all his family who he loved so much.

Dear Family and Friends of Fr. Kevin,
Although I did not know Fr. Kevin personally, I knew of his kindness and joy of life from our mutual friends, Mike and Maureen Farmer. I join in both your sorrow and celebration of his life believing in his and our resurrection.

My dearest sympathy to Fr. Thissen's family and friends. I am confident that Fr. Gerard Joubert was in line to welcomed Father Thissen to his eternal reward. Now both will watch over family and friends as we continue our journey to join them and Our Lord forever. The memories of happy times together enjoying Fr. Kevin's joy and love will lift our spirits when we think of him as we utter a prayer of gratitude.
