Kenneth Gagnon Obituary

Gagnon, Kenneth "Papa Gags" 79. Cherished father of Catherine (Steve) Ferry, Aileen (Vito) Troia, Tommy "Gags" Gagnon, Sharon (Dino) Rubino, Annette (Jim) Cortez and Kenny "Gags" (Angie) Gagnon; former husband of Catherine Blunk; loving grandfather of Amy, Kelly, Katie, Richard, Erika, Danielle, Michelle, Stephanie, Rachel, Ally, John and Ken; dear brother of Yvonne (the late Art) Olsen, Wally (Ginette) Gagnon, Clem (Irma) Gagnon and Jeanette (the late Rich) Cuchetto. Ken worked for Studio Mechanics Motion Pictures Local Union 476 since 1966 until his retirement. He was very talented and versatile in the industry, holding many positions such as Director of Photography, Gapher and Best Boy. He was involved in every part of film making and worked mostly building the sets as a highly skilled carpenter. He brought his sons into the industry and they have been working for the local for approximately 30 years. Now his grandchildren are starting to work in the industry. His legacy lives on with the third generation of Gagnons. Memorial Visitation will be Friday, January 10th from 3:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Family and friends will meet Saturday at St. John Berchmans Church, 2517 Logan Blvd., Chicago for Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
